The popular photo and chat app launches a dual camera to record different angles at the same time using the front and rear cameras. Snapchat copies the popular BeReal app but offers different features at the same time.

Snapchat announced the launch of a new Dual Camera feature, which is designed to allow Snapchat users to record or capture photos using the front and back iphone cameras at the same time.

With Dual Camera, Snapchatters can create content using their front and back-facing cameras simultaneously.

Dual Camera, a new way for Snapchatters to capture multiple perspectives at the same time – so everyone can be part of the moment, as it happens.

More visual options than BeReal: Snapchat offers four layouts for the dual camera feature.

A new feature that includes the front and rear cameras of smartphones has been unveiled in Snapchat’s newsroom. Here the emphasis is on versatility. That’s why Snapchat has integrated four layouts for a feature called “Dual Camera”: 

1. Vertical
2. Horizontal
3. picture in picture
4. cut off 

In addition, Snapchatters can add familiar elements such as filters, stickers, lenses, and music to visuals from within the app.

How to use Snapchat’s Dual Camera Features?

1. Launch the Snapchat app and you will notice a new icon in the camera toolbar or in case you are already in the app, navigate to the camera menu.
2. In the Camera menu tap the icon of overlapping cameras on the right side of the screen.
3. The Dual camera has four different layouts- Vertical, Horizontal, Picture in Picture and Cutout.
4. Tap on the desired layout. The results could be reflecting on your screen.
5. Capture your photo or video by tapping on the circle.

Now, you can use the capture button near the bottom of the screen to capture content as you normally would.

Snapchatters can also add beloved Snapchat creative tools, including music, stickers and lenses.

Dual camera is availabe to all IOS users, with Android support in the coming months.
