Social media is a great way to get your content to be seen and your message to reach out, but if it isn’t presented correctly it won’t be great to your audience. With social media images and videos sizes for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Snapchat, WhatsApp and Pinterest, there are plenty of ways to stand out in the crowd. Now you just need to make sure you know what the size limitations are for each platform

This cheat sheet will help you create the perfect social media images and videos to fit every social media platform on the web. These size dimensions are standard and are used by most businesses, we’ve collected the most up-to-date sizes from each platform and presented them in a simple table so you can easily choose which one is the right one to use.

Instagram images & videos size
Instagram lets you capture and share photos and videos in your own style. Instagram supports horizontal, vertical and square images and videos. You can enjoy photos and videos from friends as well as create your own story or feed. Here are some tips for posting great Instagram images, stories, reels and videos.
- Instagram profile picture size : 1080 x 1080 ( recommended ), at least 320 x 320
Even though the dimensions are in a square format, Instagram profile photos and almost every platform are displayed as a circle. Make sure any elements you want to focus on in the photo are centered so they don’t get cropped out.
Instagram post sizes (feed photos)
- Landscape: 1080 x 566 pixels or 1920 x 1080 pixels
- Portrait: 1080 x 1350 pixels
- Square: 1080 x 1080 pixels
- Recommended image size: Width of 1080 pixels, height between 566 and 1350 pixels (depending on whether the image is landscape or portrait)
If your image is between 320 and 1080 pixels wide, Instagram will keep that photo at its original resolution, “as long as the photo’s aspect ratio is between 1.91:1 and 4:5 .”
If your uploaded Instagram image is a different ratio, the platform will automatically crop your photo to fit a supported ratio.
- Instagram Stories image size: 1080 x 1920 pixels.
This is an aspect ratio of 9:16.
Uploading an image with a smaller pixel size (but the same aspect ratio) means the Story will buffer quickly.
If you don’t use this ratio, the Story might show with strange cropping, zooming, or leaving large sections of the screen blank.
- Instagram reel size : 1080 x 1920 pixels.
Keep in mind that Reels are cropped to a square image in your profile feed and a 4:5 portrait image in the home feed, so take care of any text or in video visuals in order not to be hidden.
- Instagram Ads are the same as the above sizes whether it’s image, story, reel or video.
Facebook images & videos size
Facebook is a platform that supports everything, you can think of it as a network that keeps trying to match all the other social media networks and not to miss anything its audience like.
It supports posts with just words and no visuals, Posts with visuals, photos, HD videos, vertical short videos ( reels ) and stories with locations, tagging, commenting, sharing and all the other known features.
The good news is that all your daily needs are simple to follow, you can just stick to Instagram sizes we mentioned above or as illustrated in the cheat sheet photo.

- Facebook profile picture size : 1080 x 1080 pixels (recommended)
- Facebook cover photos size: 851 x 315 pixels (recommended by Facebook), but we recommend a bigger size for a business page by practical experience
Facebook business page cover photo size : 2460 × 1080 pixels (recommended for business pages)

- Display size on a smartphone: 1920 x 1080 pixels
- for best results keep your texts and data away from the 4 sides to best result on both mobile and desktop
- Don’t drag to reposition once you’ve uploaded your cover photo.
- Facebook event cover photo sizes: 1200 x 628 pixels (recommended)
- Facebook square post size: 1080 x 1080 pixels (recommended)
- Facebook story images & videos size : 1080 x 1920 pixels (recommended)
- Facebook reels size: 1080 x 1920 pixels (recommended)
- Facebook HD videos: 1920 x 1080 pixels (at least 1280 x 720 pixels)

- Facebook Feed ads image size: 1080 x 1080 pixels (recommended), Minimum size 600 x 600 pixels
- Facebook Right Column ads image size: 1080 x 1080 pixels. (These are a desktop-only ad format)
- Facebook Instant Articles ads image size: 1080 x 1080 pixels (recommended)
- Facebook Marketplace ads image size: 1080 x 1080 pixels (recommended)

Twitter images & videos size

Twitter card image size:
Twitter recognizes when a Tweet includes a URL. Twitter then crawls that website, pulling in content, including a Twitter image for the summary card.
Minimum size: 120 x 120 pixels

- Single and multi-image tweets: Minimum 600 x 335 pixels, but use larger images for the best results
- Website card image: 800 x 418 pixels for 1.91:1 aspect ratio. 800 x 800 for 1:1 aspect ratio

Snapchat images & videos size
Snapchat images and videos size is not as large as other social media platforms, so it’s important to keep it in mind when you are creating content. Snapchat images and video sizes are lower quality than Instagram and Facebook, but higher than Twitter. This can be a good thing if you’re sharing quick stories or talking about a party last weekend. However, if you’re trying to get more serious with your content, Snapchat may not be the best place for it unless you have big news.
- Snapchat shared images size: 1080 x 1920 pixels
- Snapchat Geofilter image size: 1080 x 2340 (recommended)
Snapchat ads image size: 1080 x 1920 pixels (at minimum)
